Policy Brief on the Economic Impact of COVID-19 in Viet Nam
30 April 2020
This Policy Brief provides a preliminary secondary data-based analysis of some real and potential economic impacts of COVID-19 in Viet Nam, and will be further built upon in an upcoming empirical evidence based ONE UN Socio-Economic Study due to be published in the coming months. This Brief concludes that Viet Nam’s approach to managing both the immediate health and economic aspects of the outbreak have been prudent so far, and could provide a strong example to other middle-income countries by illustrating key aspects of the precarious balancing act which is required in such situations.
