Opening Remarks by Mr. Kamal Malhotra, United Nations Resident Coordinator in Viet Nam
Ha Noi, 10th March 2021 – In commemoration of International Women’s Day, the United Nations in Viet Nam together with Viet Nam Women’s Union (VWU) held a national forum on “Promoting the Implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals from a Gender Perspective” in Ha Noi. The event brought together leaders and officials from ministries, governmental agencies, socio-political organizations, the UN in Viet Nam, bilateral and multilateral donors, civil society and the media.
HO CHI MINH CITY, Vietnam - Mar 29th, 2021: Today, Microsoft Corporation and International Organization for Migration (IOM) Viet Nam officially launch a joint project titled “Strengthening access to online skills training for young workers in Viet Nam” (2020-2021). The partnership is an extension of Microsoft’s on-going Global Skills Initiative (GSI) that was launched in 2020 to address growing employment challenges resulting from the impact of Covid-19 pandemic.

Ha Noi, April 1, 2021 –The Gender Equality Department, Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs and UN Women launched the first ‘Directory of agencies and organizations supporting women and children survivors of gender-based violence and abuse’.
Ha Noi, 28 April 2021 – In collaboration with the Institute of Strategy and Policy on Natural Resources and Environment (ISPONRE), UN Women and UN Environment Programme (UNEP) launched the report entitled The State of Gender Equality and Climate Change in Vietnam today to support the integration of gender equality in the climate mitigation and adaptation policies of the country.
