NEW YORK – HA NOI, 1 November 2017 – Staggering numbers of children – some as young as 12 months old – are experiencing violence, often by those entrusted to take care of them, UNICEF said in a new report released today.
Paris 24 October 2017 – UNESCO's 2017/8 Global Education Monitoring (GEM) Report highlights the responsibility of governments to provide universal quality education and stresses that accountability is indispensable in achieving this goal. The Report, released today, warns that disproportionate blame on any one actor for systemic educational problems can have serious negative side effects, widening inequality and damaging learning.
Ha Noi, 19 October 2017 - The Open Educational Resources (OER) community in Viet Nam including research centers, institutions of higher education, library associations, NGOs, and international organizations promoted the OER movement at the third National Conference on OERs, through the sharing of OER practices and lessons learned, making recommendations to scale up OER in higher education in Viet Nam.

Ha Noi, 29 September 2017 – Fifty representatives from law-enforcement agencies and media organizations, education institutions and professionals of Viet Nam agreed to enhance efforts to protect journalists from threats of violence in a training workshop on the importance of facilitating free flow information and transparency. The two-day training workshop organized on 28-29 September in Ha Noi by the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) in coordination with UNESCO and with representation from the Ministry of Public Security promoted the interdependent role of both media professionals and law enforcement agencies in ensuring the safety of journalists and an end to impunity for crimes against journalists.
Ha Noi, 26 September 2017 – School communication campaigns in Nghe An and Ha Giang Province, two of the most disadvantaged provinces in Viet Nam, empowered teachers and students to take initiative in bringing members of the community together to discuss and address gender inequalities that persist in their homes, community and educational environment on 14 September and 25 September respectively.
NEW YORK, 21 September 2017 – Only 15 countries worldwide have three basic national policies that help guarantee the time and resources parents need to support their young children’s healthy brain development, UNICEF said today in a new report. Worse, 32 countries – home to one in eight of the world’s children under five – have none of these policies in place.
