• 12 November, Ha Noi - The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the Vietnam Industrial Agency, Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam organized a four-day training workshop entitled "Enhancing the quality of industrial policy in Viet Nam – White Paper on Vietnam's New Industry Policy" in Hanoi, 12 – 17 November 2018.

• Ha Noi, Viet Nam, 25 October — Countries in Asia and the Pacific must accelerate progress on gender equality in order to reach the ambitious and progressive global goals under the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, according to a new report by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and UN Women released today at the ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Women in Ha Noi.

• Ha Noi, 21 October 2018 - ASEAN, together with UN Women, held a seminar on Gender and Media Literacy. This is one of a series of events leading up to the ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Women which will be held later this week.

• Hanoi, 19 October 2018 – Today, the dialogue "Seizing our Potential: Good Practices on Gender Mainstreaming in Socio-Economic Development Programmes in Ethnic Minority Communities" between civil society organisations, community based organisations and other stakeholders was organized by iSEE and UN Women, with financial support from Irish Aid, in the Candle Hotel, Hanoi.The dialogue was organized to create a space to share and document challenges and successes inensuring ethnic minority women are engaged at every stage of the development and implementation of socioeconomic development programmes in ethnic minority regions of Viet Nam.

Hanoi, 19 October 2018 - Today in Hanoi, on the eve of the Vietnamese Women's Day (20 October), a consultation workshop was held on promoting gender equality in the revision of the Labour Code. It was organised by the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA), with support from Investing in Women, an initiative of the Australian Government, and the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women) in Viet Nam.

• Ho Chi Minh City (Viet Nam), 18th October 2018 – Nearly 300 girls and boys from Ho Chi Minh City will have the opportunity to showcase 21 innovative concepts of a smart and child friendly city on 18-19 October during the Ho Chi Minh City Week of Innovation, Startup & Entrepreneurship – WHISE 2018. Urban planning experts, decision makers and the public will have a chance to vote online for the most creative and practical concept.

• Ho Chi Minh City (Viet Nam), 17th October 2018 – UNICEF and partners are launching today a new challenge calling on young innovators in Ho Chi Minh City and surrounding provinces to design solutions that will improve skills and training for young people, and empower them to take actions on issues that affect them. The Youth Challenge is part of the global initiative called Generation Unlimited.

• Ha Noi, 17 October 2018 - UNESCO announced a new partnership with Coca‐Cola Vietnam and its development partners in Ha Noi with a view to reduce plastics and solid waste in Viet Nam for a "World without Waste". Hosted in the Green One UN Building in Ha Noi, the event is a special occasion to link up all active UN agencies, government bodies and relevant development partners, private sector, local NGOs and young Vietnamese activists and students with collective actions.
