UN comments and recommendations on Law on HIV Prevention and Control
Over the last 10 years, the HIV epidemic and response have evolved in Viet Nam with significant progress in terms of reduction of new infections thanks to new effective prevention interventions and expansion of HIV treatment access but there are also new challenges and a changing financial landscape. The ‘Summary Note’ focuses on a few key overall issues where the draft law could be strengthened, such as terminology, scope, Government investment in the HIV response, privacy and confidentiality, testing, and testing’s linkage to treatment.
The ‘Detailed Comments’ provide a comprehensive set of detailed and specific recommendations.
