The Success Story of the Business Registration Reform
The programme for business registration reform in Vietnam has simplified and standardised business registration procedures in Vietnam, thus making the country's registration of businesses less cumbersome, less costly and more efficient.
Through a comprehensive support package co-funded by SECO, NORAD, UNIDO, and the ONE UN Fund Viet Nam, the programme has been implemented since 2008 and recorded remarkable achievements. The average time to register a business was reduced significantly from 15 days in 2007 to 2.3 days in 2018 and registration fee was cut down to VND 100,000/dossier in 2018 (half of the fee in 2007). To date one consolidated procedure for both tax and business registration is in place. The single-point registration services are performed nationwide through the computerized National Business Registration System to ensure that the same level of service is delivered regardless of business location.
