• Ha Noi, 30 May 2018 - UNESCO Asia and Pacific Regional Bureau for Education (UNESCO Bangkok) in collaboration with UNESCO Ha Noi Office has organized a regional consultation meeting on training package for gender mainstreaming in teacher education in Asia-Pacific in Ha Noi on 30-31 May 2018, following a regional training workshop on online gender assessment tools for teacher education in Asia-Pacific (28-29 May 2018).

• Ha Noi, 28 May 2018 - UNESCO Asia and Pacific Regional Bureau for Education (UNESCO Bangkok) in collaboration with UNESCO Ha Noi office has organized a regional training workshop on online gender assessment tools for teacher education in Asia-Pacific in Ha Noi on 28-29 May 2018. Around 50 participants comprising education policy-makers, planners, experts, teacher educators and researchers from 22 countries in the Asia-Pacific region are attending the workshop.

• Da Nang, 23 May 2018 – Today, more than 80 participants from governmental agencies, local and international organizations, and research institutes gathered in Da Nang to attend the workshop on "Engaging men and boys in prevention of violence against women and girls in Viet Nam" jointly held by UN Women, Ministry of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA), and Partners for Prevention (P4P).

Ha Noi, 22 May 2018 - The International Day of Biodiversity 2018 themed "Celebrating 25 Years of Action for Biodiversity" marks the 25th anniversary of the entry into force of the Convention on Biological Diversity and celebrates worldwide achievements over the years. On this occasion, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MONRE) together with the UN Development Programme (UNDP) organized many activities and events.

• Ha Noi, 22 May 2018 – Today, on the Day of Viet Nam National Disaster Prevention and Control, the Viet Nam Disaster Management Authority (VNDMA), the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, and the UN Development Programme (UNDP) announced nine winners of the first-ever video competition "Extreme disaster events in Viet Nam: Lessons from the past, actions for the future". The competition aimed to raise awareness and promoted communication on disaster prevention to help communities better understand natural disasters' impacts and encourage their active participation in preparedness and response. The competition also supported the Sendai Framework targets and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) achievements that aim to reduce loss of life and damage caused by natural hazards.

• Ha Noi, 8 May 2018 - On 8-9 May 2018, the Regional Workshop on Advancing ESD Policy in the Mekong Region was organized in Ha Noi within the framework of the project "Strengthening ESD Policy in Viet Nam" supported by the Government of Japan. The workshop, a joint effort of UNESCO and the Uppsala University's Swedish International Centre of Education for Sustainable Development (SWEDESD), brought together participants from five Mekong countries: Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Thailand and Viet Nam.
