Ha Noi, Viet Nam, - An International Workshop “Female Police Officers Joining the United Nations’ Peace Operations – Opportunities and challenges” was held today at the People’s Security Academy to discuss ways to increase the meaningful participation of women police officers and promote gender equality in the UN Peacekeeping Operations. The event highlighted the important roles that women police play in the UN Peacekeeping Operations and the significance of bringing in diverse perspectives for conflict resolution and post-conflict reconstruction to sustain peace. The event was organized by the People’s Security Academy in collaboration with UN Women Viet Nam, supported by the Government of Canada.

To support Viet Nam’s ambitions of achieving net zero emissions by 2050, the Southeast Asia Energy Transition Partnership (ETP) held a Green Cooling Inception Workshop and a Net-Zero study Mini-workshop in May 2023, to accelerate the country’s transition from using fossil fuels to renewable energy sources, to advance climate action.

UN Women Viet Nam conducted a two-day training on gender-responsive budgeting (GRB) to equip government officials and related stakeholders with necessary knowledge for the development of a National Action Plan on Women, Peace, and Security (NAP WPS) in Viet Nam.

HANOI – Over 160 high-ranking officials, experts, and scholars from health sectors and non -health sectors representing The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) gathered in person and online for the international workshop titled "Migration and Health for Migrants in ASEAN." The workshop provided a platform for participants to discuss and strengthen cooperation among the ASEAN Member States to enhance the health and well-being migrants. It also called for streamlined collaboration to improve access to healthcare services for migrants, especially cross-border migrants. The Ministry of Health (MOH) of Viet Nam led the workshop in collaboration with the ASEAN Member States, with the support from the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the World Health Organization (WHO).

11 August 2023, Ha Noi, Viet Nam - Today, the Green United Nations House in Ha Noi welcomed over 50 young changemakers to commemorate International Youth Day on August 12. Organized by the United Nations in Viet Nam with the participation of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Department of Youth Affairs, Ministry of Home Affairs, this year’s celebration embraced the theme, “Towards a sustainable future: Green skills for youth” and highlighted the power of green skills for youth to forge ahead towards a brighter, greener and more sustainable future for Viet Nam.
