HA NOI, 24 April 2018 –The first ever National Midwifery Report of Viet Nam and the Report on "Exploring barriers to accessing Maternal and Family Planning services in Ethnic Minority communities" which was launched today in Ha Noi by the Ministry of Health (MOH), with technical and financial support from the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in Viet Nam outlines that access to quality health care is a basic human right. Greater investment in midwifery is key to making this right a reality for all women everywhere.
Da Nang – 19 April 2018 – According to study carried out by Vietnam Assistance for the Handicapped (VNAH) in 2013, 29% of people with disabilities (PWD) in Da Nang involved in the study had been subjected to violence by strangers, 36% experienced violence by acquaintances, and 25% suffered violence at the hands of family members. Unfortunately, in Viet Nam, there are no official statistics or studies available on incidences of sexual violence and violence in groups of people with disabilities.
Nghe An, 19 April 2018 – Today, the Migrant Resource Center – MRC, located at the Employment Service Center in Nghe An was officially opened, as a partnership between the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) Viet Nam and the Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs of Nghe An.

Ha Noi, 4 April 2018 – Findings from the 2017 PAPI Report, released today, show a significant turnaround in citizen’s perceptions and experiences with corruption in the public sector, more women adding their names to land use titles, and rising pessimism among the poorest citizens about their future economic prospects. Health insurance coverage expanded and fewer reported land seizures. However, setbacks included lower satisfaction with compensation for land seized, and persistent concerns about poverty among citizens of all socioeconomic backgrounds. Overall, citizens reported improvement in five of the six areas of governance and public administration that make up the index.
Binh Dinh, Viet Nam 3 April 2018 – Since Typhoon Damrey struck Viet Nam in November of last year, UNICEF has supported national relief efforts and provided life-saving assistance to more than 80,000 people, including 20,000 children in three of the most affected provinces in the country. The aid distributed focused on preventing the acute risk of waterborne diseases and the lack of safe drinking water in the aftermath of the devastating storm.
Ha Noi, 28 March 2018 - According to a recent labour market scan survey in Ha Noi by Plan International, the majority of female migrant workers are working in the informal sector with limited access to social protection services, and have not been technically trained by employers. The survey also revealed that around 70% of surveyed migrant workers did not have an employment contract.
