Experts discuss establishment of eco-industrial parks in Viet Nam

They looked at international trends in the planning of eco-industrial parks and at ways to remodel existing industrial zones in Viet Nam.  

Participants noted the importance of agreeing on a common approach to eco-industrial parks, and on defining the requirements necessary to ensure that the economic, environmental and social benefits of such parks are realized.

They also emphasized the need to strengthen existing institutional structures in order to facilitate the implementation of eco-industrial parks in Viet Nam, and to create a favorable legal environment and relevant monitoring mechanisms.
